xTEF: From testing to market – the strategic role of TEFs in European Industry

Service description

We audit the organizational processes and management systems used to develop, deploy, operate and monitor AI systems. The audit covers quality and risk management, roles and responsibilities, documentation and traceability, human oversight, post-market monitoring, change management, supplier management and staff training. The service is particularly relevant for providers of high-risk AI systems, including manufacturing applications such as machine vision, human-robot interaction, autonomous production systems, predictive maintenance and AI-supported quality control. It supports preparation for the EU AI Act, especially Articles 9, 11 and 17 on risk management, technical documentation and quality management, and is aligned with ISO/IEC 42001:2023 and ISO/IEC 23894.

Expected results:

The customer receives a structured audit report with a rating per criterion, identified process and governance gaps, and recommendations for improvement and risk mitigation. For a Deep Audit, the report also includes evidence-based findings, a gap analysis and an action plan. The audit assesses whether the organization’s processes and management structures are suitable for meeting applicable requirements. It does not assess the quality of individual datasets or the technical properties of specific AI models and does not perform the organization’s risk management activities on its behalf.
