Service description

The service supports development, benchmarking, and experimental validation of 2D CAD based vision localization algorithms, contour template matching, and AI edge extraction for robotic pick and place automation. In the DTI CADMatcher research cell, we evaluate high precision pose estimation across complex industrial parts such as stamped sheet metal, reflective fasteners, and molded polymer handles under variable illumination. The purpose is to help discrete manufacturing SMEs and robot integrators validate CAD driven robot guidance, achieving submillimeter positioning repeatability and reducing robot picking cycle times by up to 25 percent without manual part teaching.

Expected results:

A documented evaluation of CAD-based localization performance for relevant objects, including test results, robustness assessment, and recommendations for further development, prototyping, or implementation.

Methodology:

Servicen leveres som et udviklings- og testforløb, der omfatter afklaring af objekter og anvendelse, udvikling og afprøvning af 2D CAD-baserede lokaliseringsalgoritmer i DTI CADMatcher forskningscellen samt levering af dokumenterede resultater og anbefalinger til videre anvendelse eller integration.
