Characterization of control algorithms and generation of data sets for quality inspection in composites manufacturing processes

Evaluation of the performance offered by advancedcontrol algorithms for AFP processes. Pathplanning algorithms are a critical step in the deployement of AFP manufacturing process. The AFP cell will allow to test path estrategies developed by pathplanning software developing companies. The result will be a technical report describing the manufacturing issues found during the manufacturing trial with the provided path estrategy, and the resulting produced part. Additionally it is also considered the generation of datasets for quality inspection algorithms evaluation in AFP processes. Insitu laser profilometer inspection during AFP process will generate profitable datasets for developing AFP defect detection methods. In these cases the result will be a report describing the reference part used and AFP process parameters, and a dataset of the sensor readings during AFP manufacturing.
