Service description

This service evaluates and enhances customer-developed advanced AI algorithms applied to operational processes and demand forecasting. It enables companies to improve decision-making, increase operational efficiency, and reduce uncertainty by validating their solutions under realistic industrial conditions.

The service assesses algorithm performance across multiple use cases in manufacturing, warehouse management, logistics optimisation, and demand forecasting. It analyses how solutions behave in real scenarios, identifying strengths, limitations, and opportunities for improvement.

Performance evaluation is based on measurable indicators such as forecast accuracy, service level improvement, resource utilisation, computational efficiency, and robustness under variable conditions. This allows companies to quantify the impact of their algorithms on key business outcomes, such as cost reduction, lead time optimisation, and inventory efficiency.

The service includes:

  • Performance analysis and benchmarking of customer algorithms
  • Identification of gaps and optimisation opportunities
  • Proposal of alternative, complementary, or improved solutions (e.g. hybrid AI models, optimisation techniques, or data enhancements)
  • Initial validation of proposed improvements in representative use cases

Evaluations can be carried out using ITA’s testing environments and datasets or based on customer-provided operational data. Where needed, synthetic data or controlled scenarios can be generated to ensure comprehensive validation.

The service follows a structured process:

  • Definition of use case, business objectives, and KPIs
  • Review of customer algorithms, data, and system architecture
  • Data preparation and integration (e.g. ERP, MES, or logistics systems)
  • Execution of evaluation and benchmarking tests
  • Development and validation of improved solutions
  • Visualisation and communication of results

The result is a pilot application materialised as a Power BI template that presents a clear comparative analysis of the evaluated solutions. This tool enables users to explore performance indicators, compare scenarios, and support data-driven decision-making.

Typical applications include optimisation of production planning, improvement of warehouse operations, enhancement of logistics routing, and increased accuracy in demand forecasting. For example, industrial companies can reduce stock levels while maintaining service levels, and AI solution providers can validate and demonstrate the value of their algorithms to end customers.
