Operator of the Future - 2

Service description

The Operator of the Future service focuses on experimenting with an AI-powered robot solution for automated machine tending, capable of operating multiple types of industrial machines and handling a wide range of products and tasks. The goal is to validate flexible robot automation in real-world manufacturing environments, reducing manual labor and increasing production efficiency. The set-up includes an industrial robot, a 3D Vision camera and intelligent control software. This combination enables the robot to perform automated loading and unloading of machines with high precision. Thanks to its flexible design, the robot can be easily repositioned between different machines, making it ideal for dynamic and small-batch manufacturing environments where adaptability is key. The robot system is designed for rapid deployment and ease of use. It can quickly learn to handle new products, and in some cases, no additional programming or configuration is required to successfully process new parts. By leveraging advanced AI technologies such as Deep Learning and Machine Learning, the robot can recognize when actions need to be performed by observing machine behavior, eliminating the need for complex signal integration or direct machine interfacing. To execute the service, the client provides relevant use cases—such as specific machine tending tasks or actions—as well as sample products to be handled. This ensures that the experiment reflects real production scenarios and operational requirements. Expected Results As a result of the experiment, the client receives a comprehensive evaluation report outlining the performance and feasibility of the proposed robot automation solution for client’s specific use cases. The report provides clear conclusions on whether the solution meets the client’s needs, including its ability to operate across multiple machines without requiring additional programming or reconfiguration for each new setup.
Expected results: Demonstrate applicability of the solution for manufacturing industry and fulfilling needs of multiple users – SME’s from manufacturing industry
Methodology: The applied AI technology and software will be tested, improved and matured based on the use cases from multiple users from manufacturing industry. In this way the applied AI technology can be trained so it can be applied for new use cases without significant re-engineering.
Target: AI-User – manufacturing companies that operate in high-mix, low-volume settings or constantly changing parts and need flexibility in their production processes
